The history
10 years already!
STERIPURE celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2022.
A lot of steps and a lot of ground covered.
At the beginning, an idea was in the mind of its founder Olivier Bourgois. He understood that the food industry would have to face a growing need for microbiological safety.
2025 — A Strategic Validation
The pistachio validation strengthens STERIPURE’s expertise in a key product category and confirms its mastery of sensitive ingredients with high microbiological safety requirements.
2024 — A New Recognition
STERIPURE obtains Cosmos certification, marking a new milestone that confirms its commitment to quality and its ability to meet even higher standards.
2021 — Confirmation
STERIPURE processes more than 2,200 tonnes over the year and successfully masters more than 120 different products. The company establishes itself as a leading player in the pasteurization of dry products.
2018 — A New Milestone
To support its growth, STERIPURE invests in a facility 2.5 times larger, specifically designed for the pasteurization of dry products. A fourth processing line is added, increasing treatment capacity to up to 10 tonnes per 24-hour period.
2013–2018 — Rapid Growth
Driven by growing demand in France and internationally, STERIPURE develops recognized expertise in the market. An ISO 22000-certified facility and qualified teams support this expansion.
2013 — Scaling Up
STERIPURE moves to Rousset and establishes operations on a larger site. The company quickly strengthens its industrial capabilities with several production lines adapted to different types of dry products.
2012 — The Birth of STERIPURE
A prototype is installed at a pilot site in Éguilles, in southern France. Over a 12-month period, numerous trials are carried out on nuts, herbs, spices, seeds, and powders, delivering successful results.
Europe & the USA — Validating the Model
Before launching the business, he travelled across Europe and the United States to assess existing technologies. His conclusion was clear: saturated steam remained the most reliable and efficient solution.
2011 — A Vision Becomes a Business
Building on this experience, Olivier Bourgois identified a growing need within the food industry. He decided to create STERIPURE to provide a pasteurization service dedicated to dry products.
The Technology Choice
After testing the solutions available on the market, EUROVANILLE selected saturated steam technology. This proved to be a lasting choice: the machine installed is still operating daily more than 20 years later.
Early 2000s — The Turning Point
Manufacturers required vanilla powders with reduced and controlled microbiological loads. Olivier Bourgois therefore began searching for a solution capable of ensuring product safety without compromising quality.
1990 — The Origins
Olivier Bourgois managed EUROVANILLE alongside his brother in northern France. The company specialized in the processing of natural vanilla.
The Factory
Located near Marseille and the international port of Fos-sur-Mer, the Steripure facility benefits from a strategic location that facilitates the receipt and shipment of goods.
With 2,400 m² dedicated to ingredient processing and storage, our site meets the needs of the food, cosmetics and nutraceutical industries.
Thanks to its industrial equipment, Steripure processes volumes ranging from a few kilograms to several tonnes per day, supporting customers in France and around the world.
